Area of adaptation and primary use of variety:
AP Kimber CL2 is primarily adapted to 12 to 18 inch rainfall, dryland production in Eastern Washington, West-central Idaho and Northeastern Oregon.
AP Kimber CL2 has shown above average milling and baking characteristics.

Variants and Frequency:
Approximately 0.02% of plants were rogued from the Breeder Seed increase. One hundred percent of the variant plants were taller (8 to 12cm). Up to 0.5% variant plants may be encountered in subsequent generations. Up to 0.3% white seeds may be encountered n all classes of certified production.

AP Kimber CL2 has shown moderately resistant to current races of stripe rust.
AP Kimber CL2 has tested resistant to the BASF herbicide ‘Beyond’ in trials.
